The first issue of Lancaster City Living’s print magazine is out, and it’s a very well-done issue. There is a lot of great information for the prospective city homebuyer. However, I have a gripe; how did they pick their “preferred real estate agents”? There are a few on the one-page list that I agree with – folks who have worked in the city on committees and in the community for years. Then there are others who I’ve never seen a listing for on there! A nasty rumor is that the organization started with a consensus of core agents, but then started making calls soliciting ads at the last minute before publication. Now, those of us who love city homes are shut out until the spring issue. Hmm…
Of course, whether I’m in this magazine or not probably won’t have one iota of impact on my city sales. It’s the same story for all print advertising these days – agents pay big bucks for nothing in return. The web is where it’s at – and I aim to stay here!
If you’re interested in Lancaster City homes for sale, just give me a call and I’ll steer you to the great historic opportunities that are out there…

Just to make your day-we are visiting our parents here in lancaster and picked up the magazine you referenced. It was very good and gave me a good amount of info for something so small. I was using an agent that did not know ANYTHING about downtown! I immediately looked at the listings for those realtors that described themselves as having lived in the downtown and served on community boards. I wouldn’t dream of calling anyone who just listed their name! So, you are safe from those scoundrels!
Thanks for your comment. Not sure who’s the “scoundrel” you’re referring to – it’s just business for all involved. If you’re looking for an agent who knows the city I’d be happy to help out…
