Last Saturday 350 cars, trucks and motorcycles crowded into the East Petersburg Community Park.  It was a hot spring day and there were lots of things to see in addition to the handiwork of so many dedicated Lancaster County auto enthusiasts: everything from hot wheels to 2011 vehicles were on display, there was food and drinks of all types, and live music for much of the event.

The first Lancaster County cruise in of 2010 was a collaboration between the Vagabonds Car Club and the East Petersburg Events Committee – both were looking into a fresh, new event to jumpstart the warm weather season.  “It was a perfect match – the Vagabonds have a great following and really know how to put on a car show.  We’ve developed a great team of community volunteers who love putting on local events” commented East Petersburg Mayor Jeff Geoghan. 

The day ran from 1pm to 5pm, but cars began arriving by late morning.  Several major sponsors were in attendance, and trophies were awarded by each to their favorite car.   Dealership sponsors were Chapman Ford, Lancaster Nissan, Lancaster Honda (motorcycles) Lancaster Toyota &  Lancaster County Motors.

Given the great success of this event, you can bet there’s going to be a “2nd Annual East Petersburg Spring Kickoff Car Cruise”.
